You are required to understand (and be able to clearly explain!)
• what logical positivism is, and in particular the verification principle and verification/falsification (Ayer)
• cognitivist and non-cognitivist accounts of religious language and the issues arising from them
• the University Debate: Flew on Wisdom’s Gods, Hare on 'bliks' and Mitchell on the Partisan
• religious statements as verifiable eschatologically (Hick).
